I cried in front of my coworkers the other day. Part of me felt embarrassed, part of me felt free. It's not often that we are vulnerable in front of others, especially coworkers.
I work at a pediatrics office and needless to say, I witness children crying or screaming in our office multiple times a day. Sometimes it's before they go back and see the doctor because they know what's coming, and sometimes it's after their visit because they got those darn shots. Either way, I almost always make the joke: "Wow, I wish it was socially acceptable for me to that... 'cause same." My coworkers and I chuckle. I sometimes wish us adults could be just a little bit more like young children. Cry in front of your coworkers. It's okay.
